trash in the transmission pan. I had dropped the pan and replaced the the filter a few months before. Apparently, I used to much rtv on the pan when I reinstalled it and the excess was pushed into the pan. The excess rtv hardened, broke into small pieces and stop up the filter. All I had to do to fix it was drop the pan and clean it, clean off the filter, reinstall everything(with less rtv this time) and put new tranny fluid in it. That was over a year ago and so far I haven't had anymore problems. You could also have a shop do a tranny flush for around $80 or so, but I felt better pulling the pan myself to make sure all of the trash was removed. This might not be your problem, but it is worth a look.
My NA 2+2 may never be as fast as a Twin Turbo, but I sure look cool when I'm picking up my groceries. |
